(More customer reviews)I got the Library Edition and love it because it's unique. While my home has shelves and shelves of books, I keep my step-stool in the kitchen where I need it more often. It's easy to move anywhere I want it, over tile, carpet, or wood floors. It can collect a little dust and debris if you stand on it with muddy shoes after gardening, etc., and it probably would take a little effort to clean out all those rubber ridges. That hasn't been a problem for me. Now that I think about it, spraying water on it in a large sink would probably take care of that easily.
This step stool is attractive, handy, and seems stable to me. A family member did tell me to make sure to put my weight on it first, before stepping up on it, because otherwise the wheels are still engaged and could move. That hasn't been a problem for me either, but I can see his point.
I'm very glad I have this step stool. I have several different kinds, but this is my favorite for the kitchen.
Here is what I compared with.
-Large 3-step stool - Great for reaching something very high, but not useful in the kitchen very often. Takes up a lot of space. I keep it in the garage.
-Small plastic step stool - VERY light weight, easy to clean, portable, and stable. Great for outside or inside use. It's plastic, so definitely not as attractive as the Cramer being reviewed and not something one would want out on display, where the Cramer shines. Doesn't take up much space, but I hide it when it isn't being used.
-Gorgeous wood-stained step-stool my husband had made for me is too beautiful to use, reaches a little higher when needed, but takes lots of loving care. I keep it in the dining room where it just looks beautiful. Rarely use it.
CONCLUSION: The Cramer just takes a beating without needing any attention, polish, or special care. The size is practical. It doesn't take up much space and I keep it handy in my kitchen where I really don't notice it when it isn't being used. It's on wheels, which makes it handy to move anywhere in the house, not as lightweight as the plastic one, but sure is a lot more attractive. You would not want to use it outside as you would the plastic one. It probably will outlive me and whoever inherits it will still find it useful.:)
The Cramer is the step-stool I use the most out of my 'collection' of step-stools. I recommend it.
