We received this item as a gift and I feel sorry for the person that bought it for us, because it doesn't work.It only reclines.When you want to get out of the chair, instead of pushing the handle forward, you have to force the foot rest down by repeatedly kicking it while rocking your whole body forward, because the handle won't budge.If you accidentally neglect to force the chair down all the way, the chair will POP open by itself, which is extremely dangerous if you have pets or small children in the house.
Also, Amazon told me they would have it delivered to my second floor apartment, but after it was ordered Amazon changed their tune and said it would only be delivered to the front door of the house.Imagine my panic since I am 7 months pregnant and recovering from a broken ankle.Most importantly, I have emailed the chair manufacturer TWICE about the malfunction and still have not received a response.Amazon did offer an exchange or refund, and I am choosing the refund.
