(More customer reviews)Very poor packaging from Vandue.Shipped in thin factory boxes which had several holes in them upon arrivival (one of which was taped over, indicating prior to shippment that the box was too thin).Should have double boxed to better protect contents.Chair measurements were outside dimensions, leading one to believe the chair was adult size.Actual seat area is ONLY 12" DEEP by 13" WIDE with a forward slope/shape, designed for a 12 year old or younger child NOT designed for an adult.Because it is plastic, it is difficult to remain seated in the chair, you find yourself constantly slipping/sliding forward.The design is nice and very light weight.My suggestion is that the manufacturer should make the actual seating area much larger (18" deep and 20" wide) so that an average adult could sit in it comfortably, and slope the seating area to the back to help prevent sliding.Overall a great chair for the kids, but not for adults.

The base and the foot rest are made from chrome plated steel. The Beta barstool is a new higher back version of our classic Alpha barstool. It is a full 10" back above the seat and 1" wider. That's more than double the Alpha model. The Beta barstool also has a gas lift variable height hydraulic strut allowing you to adjust the height as well as swivel 360 degrees.
Constructed of molded ABS, each barstool comes complete with chrome foot rest and an adjustable gas lift tested to operate at least 100,000 times! Each barstool comes with a full gloss enamel to resist scratching. The chrome base is lined underneath with a rubber ring to protect your floor from scratching. Measures 18" wide by 16" deep and seat height adjusts from table to counter/bar height (22.5" to 31"). Overall height adjusts from 32.5" to 41". Footrest measure 11" wide and base diameter is 15".
