The bench relieves the stress on my legs, especially when the breathing exercise is followed by a lengthy meditation.And, of course, the cushion relieves the stress of the wooden bench upon my bottom. The cushion also serves well as a yoga prop, because the velcro straps allow the cushion to be double folded.
