The cushions seem to be made of high quality foam, the vinyl looks great and the overall construction looks and feels fairly solid. The directions for assembly are pretty worthless, but here's the deal - put the base pieces together (be sure to use an A piece and a B piece for each chair) and very lightly tighten the screws. Then use the longest screws to put the back cushion on... tighten these screws really well, THEN tighten the base screws... both of these sets of screws tighten with an allen wrench (provided). Next, you put the bottom cushion on - you will have to drill holes for the screws that hold the bottom cushion on. It sounds complicated but it's really easy if you remember to tighten the back cushion screws first before tightening anything else.
These chairs took FOREVER to arrive. I read lots of reviews for this company that said their shipping was pretty lacking, but I went ahead and took my chances. It was a little frustrating, but they did an okay job of communicating with me when I inquired about the lack of tracking, why my first shipment never arrived, would the chairs ever arrive? etc..., so in the end it all turned out alright... and I love these chairs!
